Jackie Hanzok is an Assistant Public Defender at the Kansas State Board of Indigents' Defense Services since March 2023. Hanzok also serves on the National Advisory Committee for Equal Justice Works, focusing on outreach and advocacy in law schools and legal services. Previous experience includes roles as a Criminal Defense Intern at Washburn University School of Law's Litigation Clinic and as a Litigation Intern at Community Justice Project, which aids low-income individuals in Pennsylvania. Hanzok has interned with KC Defense Counsel, was a Legal Extern with the Dane Hanson Foundation's Rural Practice Program, and worked as a Corrections Counselor and Officer with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. Hanzok's earlier career includes service as a Weather Forecaster in the United States Air Force. Education includes a Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law, a Master of Science in Legal Studies from PennWest California, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Cedar Crest College.
