Menachem Sklarz

Head of Genomics and Bioinformatics at Equinom

Menachem Sklarz has had a diverse range of work experiences over the years. Menachem began their career as a software developer at Bar Ilan University in 2000. After that, they worked as a lecturer at Tel Hashomer Hospital in 2003. Menachem then returned to Bar Ilan University as an assistant lecturer from 2002 to 2004. In 2005, they joined Sami Shamoon College of Engineering as a lecturer until 2008.

During this time, Menachem also pursued their PhD in biological wastewater treatment at Ben Gurion University from 2005 to 2009. Menachem also served as an assistant lecturer at Ben Gurion University from 2007 to 2008. In addition to their academic endeavors, Menachem worked as a postdoc in anaerobic digestion and grey water treatment at the Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research from 2009 to 2011.

From 2011 to 2013, Menachem worked as a technical consultant at Flow Tech Ltd. Menachem then moved on to Mekorot, where they worked as a water and energy consultant from 2012 to 2014. During this time, they analyzed historic energy-use data and ensured that water supply met energy acquisition regulations.

In 2014, Menachem joined The National Institute for Biotechnology in the Negev as a bioinformatician. Menachem held this position until 2019. Menachem also took on the role of lecturer, teaching a metagenomic data analysis workshop using QIIME from 2016 to 2017.

Currently, Menachem is working at Equinom Ltd as the Head of Genomics and Bioinformatics. Menachem joined this company in 2019 and continues to contribute their expertise in this role.

Menachem Sklarz completed their education in a chronological order. Menachem attended Netiv Meir High School, but no information is provided regarding the start and end years or the degree and field of study. After high school, Menachem attended Bar-Ilan University from 2000 to 2002, where they obtained their 1st degree in Computational Biology. Menachem then pursued a Masters degree in Mathematical Biology from the same university from 2002 to 2004. Finally, Menachem Sklarz completed their education by pursuing a PhD in Microbiology and mathematics of wastewater treatment from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev from 2005 to 2009.
