Family Mentor at Equip

Oona Hanson is currently a Family Mentor at Equip. Oona has also served as a Co-Founder at Beacon School for Boys, where they researched and developed the school’s mission, educational philosophy, curricular frameworks, and business plan. Additionally, they have been owner/tutor of a private tutoring business since 2000, advising students during the college application process and providing remediation and enrichment for students in public and independent schools. Prior to that, they were an Upper School English Teacher and Junior Varsity Field Hockey Coach at Harvard-Westlake School from 1999-2003, and an English Teacher and Varsity Field Hockey Coach at The Winsor School from 1998-1999.

Oona Hanson's educational career began with their earning an A.B. in English Language and Literature/Letters from Princeton University. Oona then went on to earn a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from California State University, Northridge, followed by a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature/Letters from Middlebury College.

Oona Hanson works with Rosemarie Gastelum - Family Mentor, Jayme Nimick - Family Mentor, and Jamila Dawuni - Family Mentor. Oona Hanson reports to JD Ouellette, Director of Mentorship.
