Thomas Murray

Thomas Murray is an accomplished theatre professional and educator with extensive experience in artistic leadership, community engagement, and educational program development. As the Chief Community Officer at Equitech Futures since May 2021, Thomas leads the Equitech Alumni Network and organizes international alumni retreat events. Previous roles include Interim Artistic Director and Program Director at Storycatchers Theatre, where Thomas managed artistic responsibilities and directed initiatives for youth in the juvenile justice system. Thomas also founded Waltzing Mechanics, a documentary theatre company, creating impactful performances that highlight real-life experiences. An educator by passion, Thomas served as Core Faculty at Equitech and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Virginia Tech, focusing on public speaking and acting. Thomas holds an MFA in Applied Theatre and Public Dialogue from Virginia Tech and a BA in Theatre Production from Ball State University.
