Kevin M. Haley

Group Head, Mechanical & Structural Engineering at Equity Engineering Group

Mr. Haley is a Senior Engineer and Group Head for the Mechanical & Structural Engineering Team at E2G | The Equity Engineering Group, Inc. As a member of this team, his primary duties are to perform ASME Code compliance calculations and Fitness-for-Service (FFS) evaluations for in-service equipment using the Level 2 and Level 3 methodologies of API 579.

Mr. Haley has supported several clients on-site and remotely during turnarounds to determine FFS and help make run/repair/replace decisions. His focus in this work is to provide practical and effective solutions to optimize inspection efforts and engineering analysis time/cost relative to the cost of a repair or replacement. This work also includes providing necessary repair plans to optimize downtime and allow extended safe service of damaged equipment.

Mr. Haley is a member of the ASME B31.4 Code committee and is responsible for maintaining E2G’s Engineering Practice collection for pipeline design (Section 20) and pipeline operation and maintenance (Section 21).

Prior to joining E2G, Mr. Haley worked as an engineering consultant in the Fossil Power industry. His analytical duties in that role included performing ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code calculations, ASME B31.1 piping flexibility stress analyses, and various FFS and remaining life evaluations for high-temperature components operating in the creep regime. In addition, Mr. Haley managed numerous advanced non-destructive examination projects for critical boiler components, high-energy power piping systems, and pressure vessels.
