Shriram Bhashyam

Shriram Bhashyam has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career. Shriram co-founded EquityZen, a game-changing marketplace for transferring shares of private companies, where they served as co-founder, chief strategy officer, head of business development, and general counsel. Shriram also worked as a network founder at 500 Startups and as a co-founder and advisor at Firneo. In addition, Bhashyam held roles at Citi as an entrepreneur in residence, at Forge as senior vice president and co-head of business development, and at TechCrunch as a contributing writer. Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, they worked as an associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP, focusing on financial institutions advisory and securities regulation. Bhashyam also gained legal research experience at the United Nations and served as a research fellow at the Samuel and Ronnie Heyman Center on Corporate Governance. Shriram is currently working as an advisor in the advisory/consulting industry and will be joining a new company in 2023.

Shriram Bhashyam began their education at Half Hollow Hills High School East, where they completed their high school degree from 1994 to 1998. Afterward, they enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, studying there from 1998 to 2002. Later, Shriram pursued further education in law at Cardozo School of Law, where they earned their J.D. degree between 2006 and 2009. In addition to their academic qualifications, Shriram has also obtained several certifications in the financial industry. In 2015, they obtained the Series 66 (Combined State Securities and Investment Adviser Representative) and the Series 7 (General Securities Representative) certifications from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Then, in 2016, Shriram obtained the Series 24 (General Securities Principal) certification from the same institution.
