Title - Financial Accountant

Location – Dublin, Hybrid working model with 2/3 days in Office

Contract Type – Full Time, Permanent

Reports to – Senior Financial Accountant

Overview of role

Escher is looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join its Group finance team in Dublin. The successful candidate will be involved in various accounting activities, including, but not limited to, preparation of financial statements, maintaining accounting records, and ensuring compliance with IFRS.

This role will have exposure to all entities and locations in the Group, Ireland, USA, Canada, UK, Singapore and Malaysia. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and other relevant accounting standards

  • Liaise with external auditors during annual audits

  • Collaborate with other teams within the finance function to ensure timely and accurate reporting

  • Completion of tax returns and filings

  • Support the semi-annual internal audits and year-end financial audit activities at the Group and Statutory levels

  • Assist with and support month-end close activities

  • Ability to work across the department and organization to produce required deliverables for financial & corporate reporting processes

  • Support with regulatory filings as required

  • Maintain relationships with external service providers

  • Assist with daily and monthly administrative duties, along with contributing to project work.

  • Support the Senior Group Financial Accountant

  • Assist with Ad-hoc projects and other duties as directed

Requirements:

You must be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, Chartered, ACCA) with good technical experience. It's a very collaborative environment, and you must be willing to fall in and help within a strong team environment.

  • At least 1 year years of experience in financial accounting, ideally in a multi-national group environment
  • Strong technical accounting skills with a thorough understanding of IFRS
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work in deadline-oriented position and environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough working knowledge of NetSuite and Microsoft Office, in particular MS Excel
  • Experience with statutory tax reporting’s and filings
  • Organized individual with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high performance standards.
  • Experience with IFRS 15 Revenue Recognition and how to apply to different contracts
  • Motivated self-starter who is detailed, results and process oriented.
  • Self-motivated and willing to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative.
  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • Experience with US Tax
