Orletta Nguyen

Orletta Nguyen has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of education. Orletta has worked as a Director of Special Education at Escondido Union High School District since 2023. Prior to that, they served as an Instructor & Consultant in the CASLA Program at California State University, Dominguez Hills where they provided instruction and consulting services on various topics in educational leadership. From 2005 to 2023, Orletta worked at the San Diego Unified School District, first as a School Psychologist and later as a Program Specialist in Due Process. During their time at UCSD, they worked as a Lecturer from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, they were an Instructor at the University of San Diego, School of Leadership and Education Sciences in 2015 and a Lecturer at San Diego State University from 2011 to 2013.

Orletta Nguyen holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Teaching & Learning, which was obtained from UC San Diego from 2007 to 2011. Orletta also has a Master's Degree in Education from California State University, Long Beach, completed between 1997 and 2005. Prior to that, Orletta achieved a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature, General from UCLA, studying from 1994 to 1997. Orletta completed their high school education at Leuzinger High School. Additionally, Orletta obtained certifications as a Licensed Educational Psychologist from the Board Of Behavioral Sciences in April 2014 and as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist from the National Association of School Psychologists.
