Associate Front End Engineer at ESO

Karen Gouck has a diverse range of work experience in the field of web development and software engineering. Karen started their career as a Brand Ambassador at BigChoice Group, where they worked on promotional activities and advertising. Karen then gained practical experience at Citi during a Work Experience Week, which provided their with insight into the IT industry.

Karen's first professional role was as a Junior Web Developer at Moment Health Ltd, where they developed and maintained the company's website and blog. Karen utilized HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to translate designs from the UX designer and later migrated the site to WordPress when the blog was introduced.

Following this, Karen worked as a Demonstrator at Queen's University Belfast, where they likely assisted with hands-on teaching and demonstrations. Karen then joined Citi as a Software Developer, working on the development and maintenance of the web-based swap lifecycle management application. Karen used Kotlin, IntelliJ, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and VSCode to migrate features, fix bugs, and develop new features based on user feedback. Karen also worked in an agile manner, attending daily scrum calls and weekly sprint planning sessions, and managing tasks on Jira.

Karen later joined Totalmobile Ltd as a Web Developer, responsible for developing and maintaining a cross-platform application used by Evri couriers to manage daily deliveries. Karen utilized JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to address bugs reported by users and used Chrome DevTools for debugging. Karen also documented their progress in JIRA and provided steps to reproduce scenarios for Quality Assurance.

Currently, Karen is working as an Associate Front End Engineer at ESO since July 2023. Further details of their role and responsibilities at this position are not provided.

Karen Gouck obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computing and Information Technology from Queen's University Belfast. Karen completed their studies from 2015 to 2019.
