Carolina Alzuru has extensive experience in community building and capacity development, currently serving as the Manager of Community and Capacity Building at Esperanza United since July 2023 and as Senior Director at NC Counts Coalition since May 2021, focusing on equitable COVID-19 vaccine distribution in BIPOC communities. Prior roles include serving as Director of Statewide Capacity at the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence, where responsibilities involved strategic management of capacity-building initiatives, and interim Executive Director during a significant organizational transition. Carolina began their career with varied roles in crime prevention and services aimed at supporting domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, including founding the Latinx Services Program at the Orange County Rape Crisis Center. Carolina holds two Bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
