Quality Control Engineer II at Essent Biologics

As Quality Control Analyst for Essent Biologics, Sapana Mahat is responsible for performing various scientific analysis to evaluate in-process and finished goods, ultimately ensuring product compliance with the established standards and specifications. In this role, Sapana conducts and validates various biological and chemical quality control (QC) assays, including, but limited to; flow cytometry, mycoplasma testing, immunomodulation testing, trilineage differentiation testing, microbiological identification and analysis of cell surface markers.

In her previous role as a Senior Chemist at AgriScience Labs and Scientist at Green Scientific Labs, Sapana primarily reviewed QC and calibration according to ISO requirements. She was responsible for the primary and final data analysis, review, and result interpretation on instruments such as HPLC, LCMS, GCMS, and ICPMS. In addition, she worked on DNA extraction for microbial testing using PCR including STEC E.coli, Salmonella, Total Yeast and Mold, Total Aerobic Bacteria and Enterobacter and Coliform. Prior to that, Sapana worked as LCMS Chemist for drug confirmation in urinalysis responsible for data analysis on LCMS, instrumentation, trouble shooting and documentation.

Sapana holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from University of Texas at Arlington.
