Louise Smith McIpd

Louise Smith MCIPD has extensive work experience in various HR roles across different companies and sectors. Louise started their career in 2008 as an HR Manager at Next Group PLC and then moved on to work as a Senior HR Manager at Amazon from 2013 to 2014. In 2014, they joined William Grant & Sons as a Senior HR Business Partner.

From 2017 to 2019, Louise worked at the Student Loans Company, where they held multiple roles, including Head of Operational Excellence and Head of Learning and Development. During their time there, they were responsible for implementing Lean methodology, improving performance, and enhancing employee engagement.

In 2019, Louise took on the role of Interim Programme Director at CalMac Ferries Limited, where they successfully led a pre-mobilization program. Louise then became an Independent HR Consultant at HRcore Ltd, where they utilized their 21 years of HR experience to provide consultancy services to various organizations in both the private and public sectors.

Louise's most recent positions include People & Transformation Director and Operations & People Director at Zero Waste Scotland, where they oversaw strategic leadership, change management, and transformation initiatives. In 2024, Louise is set to become the Global Head of HR Projects at Essentra, further showcasing their expertise in HR project management.

Louise Smith MCIPD attended Hutchisons Grammar School and Fernhill Girls School for their secondary education, but no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.
