Tom Thudiyanplackal

Tom Thudiyanplackal is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience in the film and entertainment industry, currently serving as the Director of "The Gift of Life," a short film project aimed at addressing technological challenges while exploring themes of grief and healing. As Executive Producer at the Entertainment Technology Center at USC, Tom has been instrumental in developing pipeline innovations and orchestrating partnerships for virtual production projects. Tom founded the Thought Leadership Council to promote positive content and established The Storyteller’s Desk as a think tank for transmedia storytelling. Tom's background includes producing Emmy-nominated works, leading development and marketing for successful films like "3 Idiots," and mentoring emerging filmmakers. Education includes a Diploma in Direction & Cinematography from the Prague Film School and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Mumbai.

The Entertainment Technology Center at the University of Southern California (ETC@USC) is a think tank and research center that brings together senior executives, innovators, thought leaders, and catalysts from the entertainment, consumer electronics, technology, and services industries along with the academic resources of the University of Southern California to explore and to act upon topics and issues related to the creation, distribution, and consumption of entertainment content.
