Valerie F. has had a diverse range of work experience throughout their career. Valerie has held positions in various organizations and sectors, including government, non-profit, and political campaigns.

Valerie began their career in the Obama for America campaign in 2008, where they served as a Legal and Field Volunteer. Following this, they worked in the Massachusetts State Senate as General Counsel for the Bonding and Capital Finance Committee from 2007 to 2009.

Valerie then transitioned to working for Boston City Councilor Matt O'Malley as a Policy Director from 2010 to 2012. Valerie further expanded their expertise in the non-profit sector, serving as the Director of Strategic Partnerships at Allston Brighton CDC from 2012 to 2013, followed by an interim role as the Executive Director until 2013. Valerie continued their career at the organization as an Associate Director until 2016.

From 2016 to 2019, Valerie served as the Executive Director of Greater Boston PFLAG, an organization working with LGBTQ+ communities. In 2019, they joined the Massachusetts LGBTQ Aging Commission as a member before taking on the role of Chief Executive Officer at Ethos in the same year.

Valerie also holds roles in various committees and organizations. Valerie served as the Chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee at Mass Home Care since 2022 and became a member of the Brookline School Committee in 2021. Additionally, they were the Chair of the Boston Alliance for Community Health from 2015 to 2016.

Valerie F. completed their JD degree in Law from Northeastern University School of Law between 1995 and 1999. Prior to that, they achieved a BA with cum laude honors, accompanied by the highest thesis honors, at Tufts University from 1990 to 1994. Their undergraduate degree focused on History and German.
