THE ROLE
An Ethos Classical Associate Teacher is responsible for supporting a classroom of 24–28 students to multiple years of academic achievement and social growth within a single school year. Associate Teachers write shared lesson plans; teach small groups during literacy and math blocks; supervise breakfast and lunch; and administer assessments and track achievement data. Most importantly, they build enduring relationships with students and their families.
The Associate Teacher role provides aspiring and new teachers with the experience they need to become excellent Lead Teachers. Benefits of this pathway include:

Upon the completion of a successful year, Associate Teachers can have the opportunity to move into a Lead Teacher position.
THE PERSON
As an Associate Elementary Teacher, you will:
Collaborate productively with Lead Teachers.
Internalize, individualize, and execute common lesson plans.
Make instructional choices with eagerness and urgency.
Teach whole group, small group and individual lessons with rigor.
Manage groups of students with high expectations for student behavior and consistent systems and routines.
Engage in an ongoing data-driven cycle of assessment, analysis, and action.
Provide consistent rewards and consequences for behavior.
Implement school-wide systems for academics and behavior.
Engage families through phone calls, home visits, and notes.
Commit to teach an extended daily schedule: Teacher’s day is 7:15 am–3:45 pm
Do whatever it takes to achieve the mission of Ethos Classical.
