Fiona O'Rourke, PhD has a diverse range of work experience in the field of clinical development and scientific research.

Main from December 2015 to August 2016 and from January 2010 to December 2015, respectively. Fiona'sresearch focus included intracellular bacteria, chronic infections, inflammation, tumor biology, oncology, immunology, angiogenesis (blood vessel growth), and stem cell biology.

Additionally, Fiona has experience as a Research Scientist at the Institute of Medical Microbiology and Infection Control, University Clinic Tübingen from August 2008 to May 2009.

Fiona then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Medical Microbiology (rer. nat.) at Goethe University Frankfurt from 2010 to 2015. In addition to their academic qualifications, Fiona O'Rourke also holds additional certifications such as the Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I) from Scrum.org, obtained in January 2023, and the Clinical Monitor "Klinischer Monitor" certification from Industrie- und Handelskammer Reutlingen, obtained in July 2016. In 2004, Fiona O'Rourke participated in the Canadian French Language Bursary Program, Programme d’Immersion à l’Ecole Internationale de Français at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, although the end year for this program is not specified.
