Marko Sallinen

Lead Engineer at Etteplan

Marko Sallinen has extensive work experience in various engineering roles. Marko started their career as a Test Engineer at Hans Huber Oy in 1996 before moving on to become a Project Engineer at Karelia University of Applied Sciences. Marko then worked as a Design Engineer at Mantsinen Group, where they were responsible for writing user manuals, risk assessments, and CE documentations for cranes. Marko later joined Insinööritoimisto Kupiainen Oy as a Design Engineer. Marko then served as the Managing Director/Senior Engineer at Keskinen Engineering Oy, where they worked on projects such as luxury cruisers and steel structure design. Marko continued their career at KATI Oy as a Senior Design Officer, focusing on 3D design of machinery and coordinating patent and trademark application procedures. Marko then worked at Joptek Oy Composites as a Senior Engineer, specializing in the design of various structures for luxury cruisers, railroad cars, and offshore oil drilling rigs. Marko was also a Project Engineer at Mantsinen Group, contributing to the development of lifting capacity calculation software. Marko's most recent position was as a Senior Design Engineer at Etteplan, where they currently serve as the Lead Engineer.

Marko Sallinen has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Karelia University of Applied Sciences, which they obtained between 1993 and 1997. In 2018, they completed a Sustainable Design Online Program at Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Marko also participated in the Etteplan AM Value Adding Training Program in 2018, focusing on additive manufacturing/3D printing. In 2020, they completed the Etteplan SAFETY training program.
