Eugene O’Neill Theater Center 

The National Theater Institute (NTI) at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center (The O’Neill) is in search of a Recruitment and Admissions Manager. This full-time, year-round position is responsible for promoting the six programs of NTI with the purpose of maintaining and building strong enrollment.

Founded in 1970, the National Theater Institute offers six semester-long undergraduate programs of professional training taught by industry professionals and master teachers as a way to help students springboard into their careers as actors, singers, directors, dancers, designers, playwrights, and composers.

The Opportunity 

The Recruitment and Admissions Manager leads the NTI Admissions team and will work closely with prospective students, colleges, and NTI and O’Neill Staff to ensure full enrollment in all of NTI’s programs. The Manager will play a leading role in developing and implementing new systems for application tracking, interview scheduling, and enrollment. 

Supported by the Admissions team, the Manager organizes college and university visits, contacts and advises potential NTI applicants, maintains NTI databases, as well as assists with alumni relations. The Manager visits schools, conferences/festivals, and summer programs/events. Through these visits the Manager meets with faculty and students to create greater visibility and recognition for the National Theater Institute. While traveling, the Manager must be able to consistently lead highly-engaging presentations for prospective students. 

This position requires both domestic and international travel.

Among other responsibilities, the NTI Recruitment and Admissions Manager will: 

  • Strategically plan and execute all NTI recruitment efforts with the support of NTI Artistic Director and Administrative Staff. This includes, but is not limited to, visits to colleges and universities, attending conferences and festivals, drafting copy for recruitment materials, and managing leads in Salesforce.

  • Spearhead student admissions process. Meaning, maintain and update NTI application forms, schedule interviews with applicants, process scholarship and financial aid while keeping all admissions paperwork up to date and organized.

  • Budget and track all recruitment expenses including travel, scholarship, and marketing to ensure that funds are being spent strategically and efficiently.

  • Create and maintain relationships with NTI alumni, families, university faculty, and the general public through one-on-one interactions, virtual correspondence, and events.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience

Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of relevant professional experience in higher education recruitment and/or arts education. Also, they should be proficient with database software (such as Salesforce), MS Office Suite, and Google workplace. Valid driver’s license is required. 

Compensation

The compensation available for the role considers a variety of factors including, but not limited to individual skill set, previous/applicable experience, and other business needs. The estimated salary range for this role is $45,000 - $48,000.
