Guillaume Aubert

Web Services Engineer at EUMETSAT

Guillaume Aubert has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and project management. Guillaume began their career at ECMWF as a Software Architect and lead Software Developer specialized in GIS and Distributed technologies from September 2000 to December 2007. Guillaume then worked at The Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization as a Software Engineer from 2008 to 2010.

In 2010, they joined EUMETSAT as a Ground Segment Data Dissemination Engineer until December 2012. During their time at EUMETSAT, they were responsible for the maintenance, development, and evolution of various web facing services. Guillaume also managed a team, handled contracts and procurements with the industry, and participated in international working groups to represent EUMETSAT expertise.

From January 2013 to June 2014, Guillaume Aubert worked as a MME Systems Upgrade Project Manager at EUMETSAT, where they were responsible for the development and delivery of Multi Mission Systems.

In June 2014, they transitioned into the role of a Web Services Engineer at EUMETSAT. Their key responsibilities included managing a team, driving the long-term evolution of EUMETSAT Data Web Services, coordinating international working groups, and using cost-effective technologies to provide the best possible services.

Guillaume Aubert completed their education in a few different institutions. From the years 1992 to 1994, they attended the Université de Caen Normandie, where they obtained a DEUG ASSM degree. During this time, their field of study included mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Subsequently, from 1994 to 1997, Aubert studied at the Institut national des Sciences appliquées de Rennes. Guillaume earned a Diplôme d'ingénieur, which is equivalent to a Master's degree plus one additional year of studies, with a specialization in Computing Science.
