Victoria Marquez-Mees

Victoria Marquez-Mees is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in accountability mechanisms and social investment. Currently serving as the Managing Director - Chief Accountability Officer of the Independent Project Accountability Mechanism at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development since July 2020, Victoria is the first individual to hold this position. In addition, Victoria is a Board Member of the World Benchmarking Alliance, focusing on promoting the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Previously, Victoria held several key roles at the Inter-American Development Bank, including Director of the Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism, where responsibilities included leading operations that address project-related harm to communities. Other significant positions include Director of Social Investment at Instituto Carlos Slim de la Salud and Associate Director at Structura, along with early roles at the Mexican Ministry of Health and British Council Mexico. Victoria's academic background includes a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Essex and a diploma in Finance from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
