Janelle Sandberg

Janelle Sandberg is a seasoned professional in communicable disease prevention and public health, currently serving as a Scientific Officer at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) since May 2017 and as a Scientific Editor for Eurosurveillance. Previous roles include Writer, Editor, and Project Coordinator at Battison & Partners, Public Health Planner for the Region of Waterloo, and Program Manager at Environmental Defence, among others. Janelle has also contributed to tobacco control initiatives through positions with the Canadian Public Health Association and Physicians for a Smoke-Free Canada. Educational qualifications include a Master of Business Administration from ESMT Berlin (expected 2025), a Master of Public Health from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, also from the University of Waterloo.
