Marija Grujic

German Research Foundation (dfg) Walter Benjamin Fellow at European University Viadrina

Marija Grujic is a distinguished academic focused on gender studies, migration, and post-conflict societal dynamics. Currently serving as a DFG Walter Benjamin Fellow at European University Viadrina, Marija leads a postdoctoral project on gender and asylum infrastructures in post-2014 Europe. Previous roles include a postdoctoral researcher at Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz, where Marija prepared a book manuscript exploring internal displacement and gendered nationalism, and a researcher at the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), coordinating qualitative research on migration issues in the Balkans. Marija's extensive experience also encompasses teaching positions at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, research coordination at various institutions, and contributions to academic settings emphasizing gender and social research. Marija holds a PhD in Sociology from Goethe University Frankfurt, an MS in Religion/Religious Studies from the University of Sarajevo, and a BA in Philosophy from the University of Belgrade.
