Edwin also held the role of Sales Director at Arval Service Lease/BNP Paribas, where they undertook the start-up and launch of the company in Spain.

Edwin began their academic journey by earning a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, which they completed from 1977 to 1983. Following this, Edwin pursued further studies in chemistry and obtained a PhD in Chemistry studies from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, completing it between 1984 and 1986. During this time, they focused on the field of study of Heterogeneous Catalytic Systems on Olephins Oxidation Reactions at the CSIC Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas's Instituto de Catálisis y Petroleoquímica.

After their doctoral studies, Edwin engaged in various executive and professional programs to enhance their expertise in business and sustainability. In 1990-1991, they attended the IE Business School, where they received an Executive MBA degree.
