Ashley Grealish

Ashley Grealish is currently the Head of Engineering at ev.energy. Prior to this, they were the Lead Engineer at GemFair, and before that, the Senior Engineering Manager at BBOXX Ltd.

Ashley has always been passionate about using technology to make a positive difference in the world. This led their to GemFair, where they led the development of a platform which ensures small scale diamond miners get paid a fair wage and get to work in safe, ethical conditions. The platform ensures that only the minerals found at certified sites can be registered. And ensures that traceability is maintained throughout the supply chain, all the way to end consumers.

At BBOXX, Ashley was responsible for designing the products which get installed in the customer's homes, including solar panels, batteries, and appliances such as lighting, phone charging and TVs. Each system also included GSM connectivity to remotely monitor system health and to enable remote payment control. Ashley also led development of the backend software system that was used to collect, store and process data collected from each unit and transforming this into useful alerts and notifications which could be used to increase the efficiency of local servicing teams.

In their role as Senior Engineering Manager, Ashley led a team of fifteen people across multiple ranges of skills which include: electronics design, firmware development, GSM connectivity management, Python backend development, data science, and top line technical support.

Ashley is passionate about using their skills and experience to make a positive difference in the world. Ashley is constantly looking for ways to use technology to solve problems and make people's lives better.

Ashley Grealish has a Master of Electronic and Electrical Engineering (MEng ACGI) from Imperial College London. Ashley also has certification from Coursera in Convolutional Neural Networks, Influencing People, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, and Neural Networks and Deep Learning.
