Charlie Solan

Charlie Solan has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Charlie is currently serving as the Chief Operations Officer at Evercam - Construction Cameras. Prior to this, they held the role of Chief Operating Officer at Advance Systems, where they successfully led the company through its most successful year in its 26-year history. Charlie also served as the Projects Director at Advance Systems before taking on the COO role.

Charlie has also worked as the Group Operations Manager at Eurotek Ireland Ltd, where they oversaw the operational integration of two sister companies during a period of rapid growth and complex projects. Charlie gained experience in change management consulting while working with various SMEs, helping them navigate periods of expansion and providing support in market entry strategies, procurement, and organizational restructuring.

Before venturing into consulting, Charlie worked as the Regional Logistics Manager at Lidl, managing a large team and overseeing logistics operations during a time of double-digit growth and cultural change within the organization. Charlie previously held positions at University College Dublin, where they served as the Operations Manager for UCD Campus Sport and Leisure Responsible, overseeing the construction handover and operational opening of a large sports and leisure complex. Charlie also worked as an Assistant Manager for UCD Student Centre, responsible for project management and tender documentation for capital investment projects.

In addition to their professional experience, Charlie has served as an Adjunct Lecturer at UCD, UC Berkeley, and Texas A & M, and has held administrative and student services roles at University College Dublin.

Charlie Solan has a diverse education history. In 1995, they attended Rosses Community School for an unspecified degree. In 2000, they enrolled at Letterkenny Institute of Technology and obtained a Higher Certificate in Computer Programming in 2001. Subsequently, from 2001 to 2004, Solan attended University College Dublin and earned a Bachelor's degree in History and English. Continuing their education, they pursued a Master's degree in Medieval English at the same institution, which they completed in 2005.

After a gap in their education, Solan attended the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School from 2012 to 2014. During this time, they pursued an Executive MBA, specializing in Business Administration and Management.

In terms of certifications, Solan obtained a Six Sigma Yellow Belt and a Six Sigma White Belt from the International Six Sigma Institute™ and the Aveta Business Institute, respectively, in September 2016. In the same month, they also received a Prince2 Practitioner certification from APMG International. Most recently, in July 2023, Solan achieved a TeamOps Certification from GitLab.
