Alexander Cartmell

Alexander Cartmell, CPA, CA, CIP, currently serves as Vice President and Head of Treaty Underwriting for Canadian Reinsurance Operations at Everest, a position held since February 2018. Prior to this role, Alexander gained extensive experience in treaty underwriting with progressive responsibilities at Everest, including titles such as AVP, Senior Underwriter II, and Manager/Underwriter. Previous experience includes a position as a Reinsurance Broker at Guy Carpenter, and as a Senior Accountant in External Audit at MNP. Alexander's academic background includes a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from McGill University and a Curso de Español in Lengua y Cultura from Universidad de Salamanca. Additional experiences encompass a Teaching Assistant role at McGill University and positions in personal lines at The Co-operators, as well as internships in product marketing at Research In Motion and summer employment as a tennis instructor at Waterloo Tennis Club.
