Matt Paulson

Senior Director, Enterprise Account Management, Financial Capability Network at EVERFI

Matt Paulson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Matt most recently worked at EVERFI as a Senior Director of Enterprise Account Management in their Financial Capability Network starting from April 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Global VP of Account Management & Customer Success at IdeaScale from May 2021 to April 2022.

At IdeaScale, Matt managed a team of five individuals in Customer Success, 11 individuals in Client Services, and one individual in CS Operations. Matt successfully maintained a CRM forecast, renewed and expanded $7m+ in Annual Recurring Revenue, and led strategic initiatives and process improvements. Matt also played a key role in enhancing the Account Management approach, resulting in a significant improvement in Net Revenue Retention. Matt supported clients such as Pfizer and Johns Hopkins University in implementing innovative ideas and awarding grants.

Before joining IdeaScale, Matt held various roles at the company, including VP of Account Management for North American Government from March 2019 to May 2021 and Senior Government Account Manager from February 2014 to March 2019. In these roles, they managed a Government Account Management team, achieved Negative Net Churn, and contributed to the growth of the company's book of business.

Prior to their experience at IdeaScale, Matt worked as a Fundraising Team Lead at DialogueDirect from September 2013 to January 2014. Matt also served as an EFL Teacher/Volunteer in the Peace Corps from April 2011 to June 2013, where they taught English and developed a national curriculum for early English learners. Additionally, they established sports clubs at a middle school through strategic partnerships.

Earlier in their career, Matt gained experience as a Customer Success Manager at Brener Zwikel and Associates, where they handled sports public relations for clients such as NFL, Super Bowl, NHL, LPGA Tour, and AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. Matt also worked as an Editor at Kanabec County Times.

Matt Paulson earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of La Verne, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. In 2009 to 2010, they obtained a TESOL Certification from LinguaEdge. Additionally, in September 2018, they obtained a Level 1 certification in Global Innovation Management from the Global Innovation Management Institute.
