Shikha Kathrani

Young Adult Rare Representative (yarr) Advocate at EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases

Shikha Kathrani is an accomplished Bioengineering student at the University of California, Berkeley, with extensive experience in research and advocacy within the biomedical field. Currently serving as an Undergraduate Research Intern at the Clelland Lab, as a Clinical Pharmacology Intern at Protagonist Therapeutics, and part of the Wetware Division at Neurotech@Berkeley, Shikha is involved in innovative projects, including the development of biological neural networks. Additionally, as a Young Adult Rare Representative Advocate at the EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases, Shikha actively works to improve access to treatments for rare diseases through legislative advocacy. Previous roles include a Business Development Intern position at R2DIO, an AI Operations Intern at Infinitus Systems, Inc., and Co-Founder of Inspire to Innovate, a student-led organization promoting youth engagement in scientific research. Notable research experience includes significant contributions to projects on Isoniazid-induced liver injury and DNMT1 inhibitors for colon cancer, with a strong foundation in statistical and computational analysis methods.
