Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation.

As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.

As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for Test and Verification Engineers to join the team to take responsibility for the test and verification of our products, including follow test plans and executing tests, gathering data and reporting on results to internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Executing tests plans to prove functionality/performance/durability using both internal and external facilities

  • Carrying out additional testing activities during product lifecycle

  • Liaising with external test houses for delivery of tests, including reporting and maintaining agreed schedules

  • Developing and writing test cases, utilising new and standard test methods to satisfy project requirements

  • Instruction and supervision of Test Technicians during test setup and operation

  • Assisting with the preparation of test rigs and equipment; setup of data acquisition systems and software; creation of automated rig control scripts

  • Review and sign-off test installations championing best practices and safety

  • Carrying out data analysis and draw conclusions from test data to produce engineering test reports

  • Supporting HSE requirements for functional test areas, developing SWIs and supporting risk assessments.

  • Identifying areas of opportunities for improvement in functional test areas including rig upgrades and processes

  • Ensure test rig maintenance and calibration activities are carried out in line with project, departmental and company requirements

  • Carry out test rig upgrades and assist with new rig build projects

  • Participate in activities to address organisational initiatives and engineering issues.

Skills and experience required:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience

  • Experience in the use of dynamometers and laboratory equipment to set up and carry out tests

  • Experience in testing of motors, MCUs or other powertrain systems

  • Ability to use MATLAB or NI tools to perform data analysis and ability to create custom analysis scripts

  • Flexible and open-minded in order to respond quickly to changes in project priorities

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge, reasoning, and problem-solving skills in engineering

  • Strong analytical and judgment skills including the ability to troubleshoot and advise on solutions in the area of testing

  • Good initiative, with the ability to manage own time and priorities

  • A flexible approach to work, with the desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment

  • Ability to take on a hands-on approach in test setup and instrumentation/data acquisition

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams within the organisation.

  • Willingness to travel as required.
