James Bryce Settles

James Bryce Settles has worked as a Research Assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University from January 2019 to June 2019. James Bryce then joined PPD as a Scientist-Automation Specialist from November 2019 to February 2022, where they focused on laboratory automation scripting, innovating processes, and constructing SQL queries and python scripts. After that, James worked at Curative as a Systems Engineer from February 2022 to February 2023, where they performed exploratory data analysis, developed software for automated liquid handlers, and integrated automated laboratory equipment with LIMS database. Most recently, they worked as an Automation Engineer Consultant at Exagen Inc. starting in May 2023.

James Bryce Settles has a comprehensive education history. James Bryce pursued a Master's in Public Health with a concentration in Biostatistics & Epidemiology from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. This program spanned from 2023 to 2025. Prior to their Master's degree, from 2015 to 2019, Settles completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology, General from Virginia Commonwealth University. During the same period, they also pursued a Minor in Chemistry from the same institution. In addition to their formal education, Settles obtained certification in Hamilton Robotics Programming from the Hamilton Company in May 2021.
