Derek Keats

Derek Keats is a seasoned professional in risk management, compliance, and technology strategy, currently serving as Co-Founder, Group Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, and Managing Director of ExiPay Africa since November 2021. Additionally, Derek co-founded Finimo Solutions and Learn-the-Birds, the latter focusing on birding education and photography. As the owner of KENGA SOLUTIONS, Derek assists entrepreneurs and organizations with strategic development and technology implementations. Previous roles include Head of Compliance and Business Development at onoConnect and Global Business Development at thumbzup. Derek's academic background includes significant leadership positions at the University of the Witwatersrand and the University of the Western Cape, where responsibilities encompassed information technology services and educational strategies. Derek holds a Ph.D. in Biology from Memorial University, along with a B.Sc. Hons in Biology.
