Amanda Hildebrand has a diverse and extensive work experience. Amanda is currently the Vice President of Fermentation at ExoPolymer since May 2023. Before that, they worked as the Director of Fermentation R&D at Willow Biosciences Inc from August 2021 to March 2022, and then as the Associate Director of Fermentation from April 2022 to April 2023. Prior to Willow Biosciences, they had a long tenure at DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences where they held the roles of Scientist I & II in Grain Applications Research from October 2015 to August 2021. Before that, they were a PhD student at the University of California, Davis from January 2011 to September 2015, focusing on metabolic and genetic engineering for biofuel production. Amanda also has experience as a Microbial Physiology and Fermentation Engineer at Genencor, a Danisco Division, from October 2007 to December 2010. Amanda'searlier career includes roles as a Process Development Scientist at Clorox from 2005 to 2007, an Undergraduate Researcher at UC Santa Barbara from 2004 to 2005, and an Undergraduate Researcher at UCSF from June 2004 to August 2004.

Amanda Hildebrand holds a PhD in Biological Systems Engineering from the University of California, Davis, which they obtained from 2011 to 2014. Before that, they pursued a partial Masters degree in Chemical Engineering at San Jose State University from 2008 to 2010. Amanda completed their undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering at UC Santa Barbara from 2001 to 2005, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.
