We are looking for a talented Staff Accountant to join our wonderful Finance & Accounting division here at Exploding Kittens. Do you have the drive to keep our financial operations running smoothly?

In this role, you’ll be the key player in managing and owning accounts payable—processing invoices, recording bill payments, and reconciling vendor statements. You’ll also lend a hand to our accounts receivable team by assisting with billing, resolving customer inquiries, and keeping tabs on overdue accounts. Plus, you’ll get to dive into month-end closing tasks like account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries, ensuring everything adds up just right. In-between we’re playtesting our latest creations because you need to know the product you’re dealing in so if you're detail-oriented, self-starter, and know your way around Sage Intacct (such a huge plus), we can't wait to hear from you!

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Processing and reviewing accounts payable transactions, including organizing and reviewing AP inboxes, processing vendor invoices, preparing bi-weekly check run proposals, and handling accounts payable aging.
  • Processing customer invoicing, credit memos, deductions, chargebacks, cash receipt applications, and accounts receivable aging.
  • Lead the reconciliation process for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit card statements at the end of each month.
  • Perform and review the month, quarter, and year-end close procedures, including the proper closing of the AP/AR subledgers, recording of AP/AR accruals, and the review and posting of journal entries.

WHAT WE NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
  • Ownership of AP, AR, and experience in leading CC reconciliation, accruals, etc.
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct and Microsoft Excel.
  • US GAAP Working knowledge
  • LA BASED preferred but will also hire remotely for: WA, AZ, NY, ID, PA, MO, MI, IL, CT, TX

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • 100% Company paid medical, dental, and vision benefits for you and your family
  • Flexible spending account options (medical, dependent care, transit)
  • 401k with company matching
  • Employee Equity Incentive program
  • Flexible paid vacation
  • Learning & Development allowance to invest in employee career growth
