Neil C. has a diverse work experience in the engineering and maritime industry. Neil started their career as a Cadet at Global Marine/Cable & Wireless in 1994 and progressed through various engineering roles until 2003. Neil then worked as a 2nd Engineer at Techmarine International from 2003 to 2004 before moving on to British Antarctic Survey, BAE OPV3, and Norfolk Lines for agency work in 2004-2005. Neil then joined Trinity House as a Chief Engineer, where they were involved in Buoy Tenders and the New Build Team THV Galetea from 2005 to 2008. Neil then became a Technical Superintendent at Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement from 2008 to 2012. Neil worked as an Assistant Technical Section Leader at Seadrill Careers from 2012 to 2016 before becoming the Technical Director at JAMES FISHER (SHIPPING SERVICES) LIMITED from 2016 to 2018. In 2019, Neil pursued a BEng (Hons) in Marine Engineering at the University of Sunderland. In 2020, they joined Charles Taylor Adjusting as the Director of Marine Technical Services from January to June, and later joined Exponent as a Senior Engineer in December.

Neil C. received their Higher National Diploma in Engineering from South Tyneside Marine College in 1998. Neil then pursued a BEng (Hons) in Marine Engineering from the University of Sunderland, which they obtained in December 2019. In 2005, Neil obtained a Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency Motor, Unlimited from South Tyneside Marine College. Neil also has additional certifications, including being a Chartered Engineer (CEng) obtained in August 2020 and a Chartered Marine Engineer (CMarEng MImarEST) obtained in the same month and year. Neil has further certifications from the National Association of Fire Investigators as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) obtained in June 2023 and from Cardiff University as a Civil Cardiff University Bond Solon (CUBS) Expert Witness obtained in July 2023.
