Philip also constructed automated coating systems to deposit layer-by-layer films.

Prior to their time at Georgia Institute of Technology, Philip worked at University of North Florida as a Research Engineer from December 2010 to August 2011. Here, they developed and optimized test stations for testing of Direct Methanol Fuel Cells, including designing and building test stations and optimizing LabVIEW code. Philip also worked as a Research Assistant at University of North Florida from October 2008 to December 2010, where they focused on cathode blower selection and cell performance testing for Direct Methanol Fuel Cell Technology.

Philip's early work experience includes working as a Security Officer at River City Security Services from December 2006 to May 2011. Philip performed various security duties at different locations, including building security, site security, crowd control, access control, and VIP security.
