Alex Gaither

Alex Gaither has an extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Alex is currently serving as the Vice President and Head of Oncology, USA Site Head at Exscientia since December 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Translational Medicine at LG Life Sciences Boston Innovation Center from May 2019 to December 2021.

Alex also worked at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR), where they served as a Senior Investigator 2/Associate Director from June 2018 to April 2019. Before that, they held the role of Senior Investigator, Oncology Drug Discovery at Novartis from 2015 to May 2018.

Alex'scareer at Novartis started in 2001 at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, where they held various positions such as Biologics Hub Leader, Senior Research Investigator, Research Investigator III, Research Investigator II, and Postdoc Researcher.

Alex Gaither received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry and Biology from Evangel University, which they attended from 1993 to 1997. Alex then pursued a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1997 to 2001.
