Maria Dominguez

Maria Dominguez has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry spanning over two decades. Maria is currently the VP and Head of Pre-clinical at Exscientia since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson from 2018 to 2021, where they held the positions of Head of DMPK Project Leaders Discovery and DMPK Project Leader. From 2005 to 2018, Maria worked at Almirall as the DMPK Manager and Senior/Principal DMPK Scientist. Their responsibilities included managing all DMPK research activities, leading a team of scientists, and providing strategic leadership in DMPK for various discovery projects. Before Almirall, Maria worked at Merck, Sharpe and Dohme as a DMPK Scientist and at Quintiles as a Bioanalyst specializing in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics. Maria began their career at Covance as a Mass Spectrometer Analyst. Maria has extensive experience in method development, validation, and analysis of samples, as well as expertise in using mass spectrometers and specialized software for analyzing pharmacokinetic parameters.

Maria Dominguez received their Licenciatura (BSc) in Chemistry from the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, where they studied from 1989 to 1995.
