Mark Daniel Bowling has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Mark Daniel is currently the Chief Risk, Security, and Information Security Officer at ExtraHop Networks, where they are responsible for operational risk, security management, and cyber security. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of Security Consulting Services at ExtraHop, providing cybersecurity incident response and risk management advice to customers in various sectors. Before joining ExtraHop, Mark worked as a Principal Risk Management Consultant, Chief Security Officer, and Chief Information Security Officer for multiple finance, manufacturing, energy, healthcare, and IT clients. Mark Daniel also held the position of Director of Security and Compliance at Southwest Power Pool and served as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the U.S. Department of Education and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Mark began their career as a Lieutenant and Nuclear Engineering Officer in the U.S. Navy.

Mark Daniel Bowling completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at John Brown University in 1989. Mark Daniel then pursued Master's level studies in Engineering Systems and Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock from 2014 to 2016. Mark is currently pursuing their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Arkansas, with an expected completion date of 2023. Additionally, they obtained the Certified Information System Security Professional certification from the International Information System Security Certification Consortium, Inc., (ISC)² in May 2016.
