Rhys Poolman has extensive work experience in the field of research and development, particularly in the areas of optics and physics.
Starting in 2007, Rhys began their work at Cardiff University as a PhD student, where they focused on numerical modeling of the resonant acousto-optic effect and acousto-plasmonics. During this time, they also served as a Second Year Lab Demonstrator, overseeing undergraduate laboratory experiments and contributing to experiment design.
In 2011, Rhys joined Zemax Europe Ltd as an Optical Engineer, responsible for undertaking research and development on various technologies and areas of physics to enhance the Zemax optical simulation package. Rhys later transitioned into the role of Computational Physicist, where they worked on the Zemax core, performing simulations for the program.
In 2015, Rhys joined Malvern Panalytical as a Development Scientist, involved in various development projects. Rhys eventually advanced to the role of Senior Development Scientist, which they held until 2021.
Currently, Rhys is working at EYOTO™ as the Head of Research and Development, a role they assumed in early 2022. Prior to this, they were a Senior Development Engineer at the company.
Overall, Rhys Poolman's work experience demonstrates a strong background in research and development, particularly in the fields of optics and physics.
Rhys Poolman obtained a PhD in Solid State Physics from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, graduating in 2011.
