Commissioning Lead

Overview

Our cryptocurrency mining locations are growing, off-grid and on-grid. If you enjoy solving problems, applying mechanical ability, thinking creatively, and learning new things in an exciting, challenging, fast-paced, and rewarding environment, we have a position for you. We are looking to fill out the position of Commissioning Technician to join our team. We are looking for highly motivated individuals with knowledge and experience working in fabrication, manufacturing, construction, plumbing, HVAC, electrical/mechanical systems.

With more than 50MW across the US, our Service/deployment team is a differentiator. Working out of our warehouse in La Porte, IN our technicians maintain, troubleshoot, and repair data centers, motors, impellers, variable fan drives and electrical systems across our various facilities.

As a Commissioning Technician with EZ Blockchain, you will diagnose equipment issues and determine what is needed to get the equipment running again. By providing quality communication and craftsmanship to our customers and our site technicians, our Commissioning Technicians are a true asset to our Company. Our work revolves around commissioning new sites, maintaining existing sites and supporting customers who buy our Data Centers. 

A Day in the Life

  • Perform preventative maintenance and resolve complex problems by troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, immersion systems and motor issues on EZ Blockchain products and similar competitor models.

  • Create and maintain records of all service activities and business reporting documentation.

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all EZ Blockchain Company property. This includes the company vehicle, tools, parts, inventory, and equipment.

  • Follow all safety protocols and utilize proper PPE.

  • Collaborate with internal partners such as sales, customer service, operations, network engineering, and other data center technicians to support our mutual success.

  • Support our existing sites by providing them with repairs or the products and resources that they need shipped out to them

Role and Responsibilities

  • The ability to work unsupervised.

  • Have a general understanding of what tools are needed for certain tasks and how tools are used.

  • Have a good understanding of how systems are interconnected and how to perform root cause analysis.

  • The ability to follow instructions and to ask questions when necessary.

  • Be able to keep track of your time and document your work.

  • The ability to possibly recommend alternative solutions.

  • Be able to closely follow process and procedures for common tasks.

  • Enter and update current work and inventory logs.

  • Perform basic repair of damaged or faulty equipment and devices.

  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work a variable schedule as necessary.

You have the willingness, and ability to travel ~50% of the time.

Required Experience and Education

  • You are authorized to work in US.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver's license plus meet EZ Blockchains driving policy requirements.

  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical motors

  • Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems

  • Using hand and power shop tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices.

  • Using a personal computer, MS Office Suite, and email.

  • Vocational schooling in electrical/HVAC/plumbing/automotive/diesel

Previous experience in fabrication, manufacturing, construction, plumbing, HVAC, electrical/mechanical systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds, with most items weighing between 2 and 20 pounds. Occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 90 pounds. Assistance should be provided for items weighing over 60 pounds.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, ladder work or squatting daily.

Most of our work is done outdoors, all year round in all kinds of weather.
-Driving a truck and trailer to and from our sites, including some driving time of 10+ hours.

Further Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Inspects assembled equipment to ensure proper installation.

  • Will be working near Medium to High Voltage lines and equipment must adhere to all OSHA requirements

  • Performing minor equipment repair

  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with Health, Safety & Environmental regulations.

  • Review all paperwork related to testing, insulation resistance, continuity, and polarity for accuracy and completeness.

  • Maintain the online commissioning database and ensure distribution schedules are up to date.

  • Additionally, we are looking for individuals that are interested in learning the application of these things to data centers, computers, servers, switches, and crypto miners. Although we work a traditional schedule, please keep in mind that we are in fast moving industry, and you may be asked to travel at a moment’s notice for extended periods of time and often on weekends.
