Kapil Sony

Kapil Sony has over 16 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. In 2005, they began their career as a Production Officer at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, where they were responsible for supervising the routine production of two high volume sterile parentral products. Kapil was later applauded for finding a major error in the PIL of a product and correcting the same.

In the same year, Kapil Sony joined Cipla as a Formulation Scientist. Here, they worked on different types of oral solid dosage forms including tablets, capsules, sachets, dispersible, effervescent and chewable tablets. Kapil also had hands-on working experience of formulating oral liquids and steriles. Additionally, they were responsible for technology transfer to pilot plants and further execution of the registration batches for the successful filing of ANDA.

In 2009, Kapil Sony joined GlaxoSmithKline as a Development Scientist. In 2010, they joined Almac Group as a Senior Formulation Scientist, where they were the technical lead in formulation of oral solid dosage forms like tablets, capsules, sachets etc. Kapil was also responsible for development of formulations for Phase 1- Commercial Launch.

In 2016, Kapil Sony joined Juniper Pharma Services as a Formulation Team Leader. Here, they were responsible for leading and managing a team of Lead and Senior Scientists, supporting business development in new business opportunities, critically reviewing RFP/RFQ against the capabilities, drafting proposals, involvement in bid defense and trouble shooting during formulation development and clinical trial manufacturing stages.

In 2017, Kapil Sony joined RB as a Senior Associate. Here, they managed multi million pound consumer projects in pain portfolio business through third party CMO. Kapil was also responsible for project management with third parties, due diligence managing clinical trial supplies for the projects and wide cross functional leadership on projects ensuring projects delivered to timelines.

In 2018, Kapil Sony joined Piramal Pharma Solutions as a Senior Formulation Scientist. Here, they were responsible for leading and managing a group of experienced scientists, ensuring the Performance Management, Training and Development of the team. Additionally, they had high exposure to potential and current clients by interaction through pre-contractual FTF meetings, TC's etc.

Most recently, Kapil Sony joined F2G in 2021 as the Head Of Formulation, CMC. Here, they are responsible for writing up and reviewing of response of information requests from USFDA, leading CMC related activities like Formulation, Scale up, Tech transfer, Manufacturing and Packaging including enabling technologies such as spray drying, HME, and managing existing CDMO's for fruitful collaboration, compliance and maintaining healthy relationships.

Kapil Sony completed their Msc in Pharmaceutical Sciences from London Metropolitan University between 2008 and 2009. Prior to that, they earned a B.Pharm in Pharmacy from Principal K. M. Kundnani College of Pharmacy between 2001 and 2005. In addition, Kapil has obtained several certifications, including an Affiliate from the Chartered Management Institute in September 2020, Training on Design Expert Software from Stat-Ease, Inc. in April 2012, Colorcon Coating School from Colorcon in August 2007, Modified Release Forum from Colorcon in January 2006, and International Symposium on Hot Melt Extrusion from Evonik in September 2005.
