Fabio Saia Cereda

Research Economist at Fable Data

Fabio Saia Cereda has extensive work experience in the field of economics. Fabio currently serves as a Research Economist at Fable Data, where they lead the economics research area. Their key responsibilities include developing methodologies for analyzing anonymized transactional data and supporting external institutions in utilizing high-frequency transactional data for research.

Prior to joining Fable Data, Fabio worked as a Consultant at The World Bank. In this role, they developed microsimulation tools to evaluate the impact of policy changes on poverty, income distribution, and the labor market in Angola and São Tomé e Príncipe. Fabio also supported the National Statistical Office of São Tomé and Príncipe in conducting a survey to assess the impact of Covid-19 on households. Additionally, they assessed the impact of World Bank investments on poverty and equity in São Tomé and Príncipe and Brazil.

Fabio's academic background includes being a Master's Degree Student at Faculdade de Economia, Administração e Contabilidade da Universidade de São Paulo. Fabio also worked as a Research Assistant at Insper's Center for Public Policy, where they conducted research on the historical impact of Brazilian slavery on educational inequality.

Earlier in their career, Fabio gained practical experience as a Trainee at Coca-Cola FEMSA.

Fabio Saia Cereda obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas in 2014. In the same year, they also completed a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidade do Porto. Fabio pursued further education and received a Master's degree in Economics from the School of Economics, Business, and Accounting at the University of São Paulo from 2017 to 2019.
