Leo Hartman has held a variety of roles in the space and technology sectors since 1993. Leo began their career at the Canadian Space Agency as a Research Scientist, where they were responsible for R&D and contract oversight related to space mission computing, communications, reliability and autonomy. In 2004, they became the Canadian Space Agency Representative for the Management Council of CCSDS, where they represented Canada's and CSA's interests in the strategic decision making. In 2013, Leo began working as a Consultant at Apex Sciences. In 2015, they joined BioAstra Technologies as the Leader of the Smart Polymer Platform & Robotics, where they explored AI knowledge-based techniques and Data Analysis and Visualization in the development of new polymers and their applications. Leo also developed a Data Visualization tool for more intuitive access to lab measurements. In 2017, they co-founded Aidvisors Inc. as the Co-Founder and Head R&D. Leo is currently the Co-Founder of Factually Health.
Leo Hartman obtained a BSc in Computer Science (Honors) from the University of Alberta between 1975 and 1979. Leo then went on to the University of Rochester where they obtained a Phd and MSc in Computer Science / Artificial Intelligence between 1982 and 1990.
