Andres L. Carrano

Dr. Carrano joined Fairfield University as the Dean of the School of Engineering and professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in August 2020. Previously, he held administrative and endowed academic professorships at Auburn University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Georgia Southern University, and Universidad Catolica Andres Bello.

Dr. Carrano has also held visiting faculty appointments at universities in Japan and Turkey, was awarded a NASA Fellow appointment at the Marshall Space Flight Center and has served as a Fulbright specialist in Italy. He earned his MSc and PhD degrees from North Carolina State University, and his BS degree from Universidad Católica Andres Bello — the oldest of three Jesuit universities in Venezuela.
