Emmanuel Chia

Emmanuel Chia is a seasoned social worker with extensive experience in case management and community support, particularly for vulnerable populations. Currently serving as a social worker at FAIRMED since January 2021, Emmanuel provides essential assistance to internally displaced persons in the Northwest and Southwest Regions of Cameroon, as well as Central African refugees, focusing on emergency needs assessments and care plans. Previous roles include working at Reach Out Cameroon, where Emmanuel managed child protection in emergencies, and at the Centre for Empowerment of Females with Disabilities, addressing the needs of children with disabilities amid the Anglophone crisis. Emmanuel also has a background in program management with Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services and experience in maternity care and elderly support in the UK. Emmanuel holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Bedfordshire and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Buea.
