Martez Brayboy has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Martez started their career as a Youth Counselor and Behavioral Specialist at United Youth and Family Services, where they provided support to youth and their families. Martez then worked as an Instructional Assistant at NMTSA, assisting teachers and therapists in supporting students with Autism.

After that, Martez worked as a Part-Time Assistant Manager at General Nutrition Centers, Inc, where they had management responsibilities and assisted in merchandising. Martez also worked as a Campaign Intern at Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's New York City Office, gaining government experience and working closely with the Governor's staff.

Martez then served as a Legal Assistant at the Bronx County District Attorney's Office before joining the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation as a Parks Enforcement Patrol Officer. In this role, they enforced park rules and regulations and issued summonses for quality of life infractions.

Martez later joined the Family Life Academy Charter Schools as a Physical Education Teacher and eventually became the Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach. Martez also worked as the Head Men's & Women's Cross Country Coach at Northeastern Technical College.

In 2018, Martez began working at Marlboro County School District as a Physical Education Teacher, Athletic Director, and Head Boys Basketball Coach. Martez also served as the Head Boy's Track and Field Coach and History Teacher during their time there. Additionally, Martez was an Assistant Football Coach and later became the Head Football Coach for the McColl football program.

Martez had a brief role as an Assistant Football Coach at Darlington High School before joining the Family Life Academy Charter Schools again as the Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach and Physical Education Teacher.

Martez Brayboy has a diverse educational background. Martez began their education at Cheraw High School, where they completed a College/University Preparatory and Advanced High School/Secondary Diploma Program, earning their High School Diploma in the year 2002. Following this, Martez attended the College of the Siskiyous from 2005 to 2007, where they pursued General Studies and obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree.

Continuing their academic journey, Martez enrolled at Eastern Oregon University from 2008 to 2012. During this time, they studied Liberal Studies with a focus on Anthropology/Sociology/Communications, leading him to receive their Bachelor's degree.

Martez furthered their education at Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus, where they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Political Science and Government from 2013 to 2017. This allowed him to expand their knowledge and specialize in this field of study.

In 2019, Martez attended Fresno Pacific University, where they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. Martez completed their studies in 2020, further enhancing their understanding of this subject.

Martez also holds additional certifications. In 2020, they obtained a USATF Level 1 Coach certification from the USATF Level 1 Coaching Certification Program. Furthermore, in 2023, they completed the Foundations of User Experience (UX) Design course offered by Coursera.

Throughout their education, Martez has demonstrated a commitment to expanding their knowledge in various fields, including anthropology, sociology, communications, political science, government, kinesiology, exercise science, coaching, and user experience design.
