Julia Wood is an experienced archaeologist with a diverse background in field and lab work. Currently serving as a Staff Archaeologist and Lab Assistant at Far Western Anthropological Research Group, Inc. since May 2021, Julia previously worked as an Archaeological Technician at PaleoWest from September 2019 to January 2023. In various roles, Julia gained expertise in excavation, construction monitoring, artifact sorting, and cataloging, as well as proficiency in site mapping using digital tools. Julia's early experience includes positions at Alta Archaeological Consulting and Albion Environmental, where skills in cultural material identification and archaeological record-keeping were developed. Additionally, Julia served as an Anthropology Lab Assistant at the University of California Santa Cruz, focusing on specimen management and lab safety. Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, earned in 2019.
