Sally Lait

Sally Lait is the Head of Engineering at Farewill. Sally was previously the Senior Engineering Manager at Monzo Bank from December 2018 to July 2020. In their role at Monzo, Sally was responsible for engineering within the Operations Collective (covering all aspects of customer support, financial crime, complaints, and more), and Discipline Lead for Web across the company.

Sally has a strong track record in leadership and management, with experience in setting strategy, KRIs, making decisions around technology, and partnering with technical leads, senior engineers, and product managers to drive technical initiatives, strategic work, and scaling improvements. Sally is also experienced in headcount planning and team structure.

Some of the things that Sally is most proud of include proposing and starting up new teams (Web Platform and Web Consultancy), leading the successful delivery of redeveloping Monzo’s engineering progression framework, and helping to scale Monzo’s engineering function to support the company reaching over 4.2 million customers.
