Alec Stein

Alec Stein has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Alec is currently working as an IT Program Manager at Farmer's Business Network, Inc. starting from 2022.

Prior to this, Alec had a significant tenure at the City of Cambridge, where they held multiple positions. Alec started as a Forester in 2013 at the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation and was later promoted to the role of Senior Forester - GIS and Analytics. In this role, they implemented data analytics processes that significantly reduced outstanding tree removal work requests. Alec also managed two direct reports and collaborated with the IT engineering team.

Alec's experience also includes working as a Groundperson/Climber and Pruner at Almstead Tree, Shrub & Lawn Care Company, where they were involved in tree care and removal in various locations.

Furthermore, Alec worked as a Right-of-Way Surveyor at the Vermont Transportation Agency, where they searched for property monuments along a 40-mile corridor of Interstate 89, using various surveying tools and equipment.

Throughout their career, Alec has demonstrated their expertise in project management, software implementation, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Alec Stein obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources - Resource Management from the University of Vermont. Alec attended the university from 2008 to 2012. In addition to their degree, Alec also completed minors in Forestry and Geospatial Technologies. Alec furthered their education by obtaining certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in December 2020, and as a Smartsheet Product Certified User from Smartsheet in June 2019.
