Thimm Zwiener

Thimm Zwiener has a diverse range of work experience, starting in 2015 as a Student Research Assistant at the Institute for Ancient Near Eastern Studies – IANES, Tübingen. Thimm participated in a field survey in Iraq, collecting magnetic measurements using various instruments.

In 2016, Thimm interned at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), where they worked on remote sensing technologies, specifically classifying and segmenting remote sensing data using convolutional neural networks. Thimm also developed a script to simplify the calibration of DSMs with points taken by a total station.

Thimm then worked as a Student Assistant at the Geographical Institute at the University of Tübingen, where they collected ground truth data in Kigali for a rapid planning project and their bachelor thesis. Thimm used this data to create classification maps of the city and landcover classification maps of Rwanda.

From 2017 to 2018, Thimm worked as a Data Analyst at CDC Cartel Damage Claims, working on antitrust damage litigations in Europe. Thimm collected, standardized, evaluated, and presented economic data and communicated with damaged companies regarding economic and data-related aspects.

In 2019, Thimm had a role as a Machine Learning Engineer at Radix, where they implemented AI solutions, deployed them on cloud infrastructures, and delivered them to clients. One notable project they worked on was the development of machine learning models for a "Tinder for Jobs" concept.

Thimm later pursued a PhD at Vrije Universiteit Brussel from April to December 2021. Thimm then joined Fresh Ventures Studio in 2022 as a Founder-in-Residence. Here, they co-founded companies to address systemic challenges in the food system.

At tzwe consulting (tzwe.eu), Thimm worked as a Data & Machine Learning Specialist from 2018 to 2022. Thimm provided services to small and medium-sized companies, focusing on algorithm development and the implementation of data work platforms. One notable project they worked on was a bidding optimization algorithm for Google AdWords.

In 2022, Thimm co-founded FarmOn and served as the Co-Founder and CTO. Thimm later co-founded Meuccitech in 2023, where they also held the role of Co-Founder and CTO.

Thimm Zwiener's education history includes obtaining a Master's degree in Geographic Information Science and Cartography from Vrije Universiteit Brussel between 2016 and 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Geography, Physics, General Science, and Physical Education from the University of Tübingen from 2012 to 2016. Additionally, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Geography at Jagiellonian University from 2014 to 2015. Before attending university, Thimm obtained their Abitur from Karl-von-Frisch Gymnasium in an unspecified year but before 2011. Furthermore, they participated in an educational program at Elwood Community High School and Purdue University in Indiana, USA from 2008 to 2009.
